Through the lens of 'outsiders' (aliens) visiting Earth's disrupted ecosystem, the narrative envisions a world where humans and animals coexist, emphasizing our place as a part of the interconnected system rather than exceptional creatures. The playful narrative introduces the concept of 'Plasti-Scene’, A Scene full of Plastic, a new fictional geological epoch born from a scene abundant with plastic. This creative approach educates the audience about the potential future implications of our environmental actions, effectively symbolized by plastic. Cultural influences, particularly exposure to microplastics, result in 'Plasticization' among both humans and nonhumans, fostering a transverse force that reconnects species, categories, and domains, thanks to symbiogenesis through plastic. Ultimately, plastic serves as a metaphor for the consequences of Anthropocentrism and becomes a tool to equalize the status of humans and nonhumans in this envisaged future. Rather than idealizing perfectly ‘circular’ value chains, we chose to represent the uncomfortable truths: the complexity, the fragmentation, and the potential for transformation.Guided by the insights of participants, we mapped the flows and frictions between people, materials, and environments.
